I Am May 11, 2022 My self-talk is crazy. I decided to develop my inner voice to be more kind and one that I want to guide me. Also, I know when no one else is on my side, I am. I’m in my own corner and that’s the person that I realized I needed to start with. As Kendrick said, “…what love got to do with it when you don’t love yourself?”
Zeku Matchup Guide April 25, 2022 Season 6 of SFV is out and I decided to revisit some of the matchups. OZ VS1 anti-air is easier to do and I think it does great against characters that can change the trajectory of their jumps. WORK IN PROGRESS
Ranked July 17, 2021 Rank isn’t everything, although I compare player rank in SFV to cars using this analogy:
Ten Thousand July 07, 2021 I have officially use Zeku 10,000 times (the lady on CFN (capcom fighters network) told me that). Shortly after, I reached the rank of Grand Master. Malcom Gladwell wrote a book called “Outliers” that introduced the “10,000 hour rule” where it explains that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become proficient at something. This concept can be applied to SFV to become better. Although I noticed that I reached a plateau before and the game-changer for me was when I started applying deliberate practice.
2 Years April 13, 2020 Wow. I just realized about 2 years have passed since I’ve began playing SFV and taking it more seriously. What a wild ride! Reading through these posts below still got me laughing I’m not gonna lie. The progression, or lack there of, truly amazes me.
FT10 with Tajh's Nash Before Season End December 05, 2019 I hope to pracitce humility today at my local more than anything. I requested a FT10 with the 2nd best SFV player at my local scene. Usually, we don’t play serious for very long. After a couple games we resort to picking secondaries and mucking around without truly learning anything. This time we’re trying to achieve 10 victories in 1 sitting.
How I went about getting better at SFV May 15, 2019 I made it a goal in a previous post to explain something I didn’t understand when I first started SF5. So today’s topic will be “How to improve in SF5” since it is one of the things I am still trying to get my head wrapped around. The aim of this goal has 2 parts. First, by sharing my personal experience of banging my head against a wall I will hopefully save some else some bruises along the way in this process. Secondly, it is an evaluation of myself to see if I’m using all of my resources to get better and using them to the best of my ability.
Money Match at the Local (Post-Fight) April 12, 2019 WWWwwelp. I lost. 4-5. I was up 4-1 at one point and then I blew it. I watched the replay. I started deviating from the game plan. In the matches leading up to the end I fell back to bad habits. Random Ex.Peach, not low profiling the drop kick with cr.mk, getting baited into the corner. All that jazz.
Money Match at the Local (Pre-Fight) April 11, 2019 OOOOOOOOO BOIIIIIIII TODAY IS THE DAYYY!!! THE DAY OF THE MONEY MATCH IN SFV! It will be FT5 between me, Buttnaked, versus the infamous Nikos. The 2 R.Mikas of Huntsville Alabama. It’ll be Cincuenta Cincuenta’s at its finest. Not only is it for the money ($50), but also for the most important thing. THE RIGHTS TO TALK THAT TRASH! WHO’S GONNA GUESS RIGHT TONIGHT!?
Thoughts after a year March 28, 2019 Soooo. It’s been a while. And I’m looking back at these past couple of notes and it’s still enough to leave me in tears from laughter. Mainly because I’m still a noob.
Blanka Announcement Reaction February 10, 2018 LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAWD. There goes the peace and quiet -_-
